City of Agawam & Agawam Public Schools - Agawam, Massachusetts
Summary
Energy Efficient Investments (EEI) was selected to partner with the City of Agawam and Agawam Public Schools to conduct a comprehensive energy audit and feasibility study of all 18 municipal and school buildings. The goal of the project is to develop a coordinated, cost-effective strategy to address aging HVAC systems, improve energy efficiency, and modernize building infrastructure while minimizing long-term capital burden.
EEI’s approach focuses on standardizing equipment across facilities, improving operational reliability, and leveraging state and federal incentives, grants, and energy savings to offset major capital costs. As part of this effort, EEI is evaluating geothermal systems as a key component of a long-term, economical solution that aligns with Massachusetts’ clean energy and decarbonization goals. The project is designed to deliver practical, scalable upgrades that improve comfort, performance, and resilience while supporting the Commonwealth’s sustainability mandates.
“EEI didn’t just come in with a presentation—they came in as partners. They sat down, talked to us like people, and truly listened to our needs. We chose them over global corporations because they understood our mission, our students, and our long-term vision. That decision has paid dividends.”
