City of Auburn, Maine

EEI is partnering with the City of Auburn and Auburn School Department to plan and implement a wide-ranging portfolio of energy and facility improvement projects across municipal and school buildings. The scope includes solar PV, HVAC upgrades, architectural and ADA improvements, building envelope weatherization, electrical upgrades, advanced building controls, and lighting modernization.

EEI’s architectural and engineering teams completed comprehensive interior and exterior building assessments, followed by detailed energy audits and feasibility studies. This work has informed a long-term improvement plan totaling approximately $28 million, addressing both immediate infrastructure needs and future-focused building performance upgrades. Several projects have already been completed, delivering improved reliability, comfort, and operational efficiency while laying the groundwork for larger phased improvements.
